 choosing good university in USA for computer science grad

hi,
i am looking for a good university in usa for my graduation in computer science. so what i want is suggestion on good colleges...
does the rank of the college decide our future there? and what is the actual process to get assistantships? will the college do that for us or we'll have to communicate wid professors ourselves?
m totally lost n need some help.........

There are more than 3000 colleges in USA and it does not matter where you studied except top 10 University here in USA and it will hard to get admission on top 10 University.
