I am not sure about the extent of racism in U.S. But I have felt much more racism in Nepal. In U.S. racism is mostly on skin color i.e. your origin.
In Nepal racism is within the same color. Do you or your children marry with kasai, sarki or damai in Nepal? Even within Newars, there is extreme jatiye discremination. I am just giving you the factual example.
Hence, let's not worry about U.S. Let's fix the racial problems in our own backyard.

People who don't know us, based on skin color we are all middle-east (arab) people except some Nepalese who are Mongolians. As people know about us, they love us because we are not Muslims and belong to small country who believe in Yoga/Hinduism/Buddhism. I agree with Nepalibhai, I was bullied being Brahmin and having long nose from other castes. I am more likable here.

Apart from racism based on skin color in US how many of you have experienced accent based racism ? When you call any govt agency or service oriented firms to inquire about something the rep's voice changes from polite to not-so-polite tone as soon as he/she listens to you and finds out your un-American accent. At times, they act rude and even start yelling at you. They totally forget how they were taught during their training about how to behave with a customer. Share your experience, friends.

I think we Nepali ourselves are the most racist people. Sorry but that's the fact. We stick to our own community, not trying to explore the culture here. There are always couple rotten apples in a bunch and we are in their country so.............Its like the Madhesi(People frm Terai in Nepal) people in Ktm selling fruits but we tell them go back to India as most are from janakpur, siraha and all which is in Nepal.
